Radioactive Information

Radioative informational sheet about gemstones

It has always been essential to check all gems, without exception, to rule out any risk of radioactivity, whether it is a diamond, a crystal or any other precious stone, radioactivity can be seen in all varieties of gems.

In 2026, amidst a proliferation of fraud, counterfeit gemstones, and questionable practices, ensuring that gems in circulation pose no health risks is more crucial than ever. Even when a stone is genuine, it can still be contaminated or originate from a negligent supply chain. All too often, rejected or withdrawn gemstones end up being resold on auction platforms, a deeply concerning situation.

Too many laboratories deliberately omit certain tests, especially when these tests could render the gem unsaleable and prevent it from becoming a loss. However, when it comes to safety, there can be no compromise.

At GEM Québec Laboratory, our priority is clear: the protection and trust of our members. That's why we apply a rigorous and responsible approach, prioritizing comprehensive analyses to guarantee that the gems evaluated pose no health risks. Whether the gem is worth $20 or $20,000, all our gems have passed the test, and we permanently remove any undesirable items; nothing is ever put back into circulation.
